Description
** MOTIVATED SALESMAN **
Frans Maas drew the Hawk 42 in 1968 specifically for the Fastnet race. Several were built, including number 249, the Timujin (the original name of the Calypso) which was launched in April 1970. This Hawk is the last of a series of 4 (including 2 in polyester). The first thing you notice about the Calypso is the beautiful classic line so characteristic of the racers of the early 1970s. Then the most striking is the very spacious cockpit. And then immediately follows the wide gangways. All this makes it very pleasant to stay outside on the Calypso, both in port and under sail. The Calypso has a classic interior which is deliberately kept as much as possible in honor but to which luxury has been added over the years. For example, there is a hot air stove and a 4-burner stove with large oven. Striking are the very practical sea bunks (with any type of wind a very comfortable place to sleep) and the spacious folding table where 8 people can eat. The 2 meter long seat benches can be widened to create 2 extra beds. Ample storage space is available both under the sea berths and in the very spacious hanging locker. The last 20 years a lot of major maintenance has been done by Skip Maritiem in Hindeloopen (NL). The teak deck was completely re-rubbed and partly replaced in 1994, but does require attention in the coming years. The asking price takes into account major maintenance/replacement of the deck. See the full ad for detailed information.Curious? Please contact White Whale Yachtbrokers Sneek office at [email protected] or +31 (0) 515 423 467 for more information.
