The Lagoon shipyard was founded in 1984 as an extension of Jeanneau's "competitive sport" department, which had already created more than 50 regatta boat prototypes. In the 1980s, its first generation of Ocean Cruiser proposed technical systems similar to those found in regatta sailing boats. 1997 was an important year for the make, with the launch of the Lagoon 410, a catamaran that went on to be considered a reference for all shipyards in the multihull category. This boat, a revolution at the time, has enabled Lagoon to gain a great reputation in the nautical sector.
Over time, Lagoon has extended its offer to include multihull sailing and motor boats, becoming the leader in the production of catamaran cruisers in the world. 2006 saw the launch of the Lagoon 420 Hybrid, the first catamaran with hybrid diesel-electric propulsion, confirming the make-s commitment to the environment. Lagoon has won many awards which have rewarded the work of its designers. The 12 catamaran models currently offered by Lagoon are designed taking into account all of its customers' needs.
