Advertiser's comments

Launched and handed over as a new boat in 2014. A very lightly used, one owner, two cabin example of this high quality, British built offshore cruising yacht. Appointed to an exceptionally high standard by a discerning owner.   FURTHER BROKER’S COMMENTS:   WINDSONG is an incredibly lightly used example of the class, launched and commissioned as a new boat in 2014. Her engine has recorded less than 300 running hours with the generator having only been run for the purposes of commissioning and servicing. Further the showers in both heads have never been used. Commissioned by the vendors to their exacting specifications she boast an extensive list of extras, highlights of which include:

  • Fixed fin keel.
  • Single spade rudder.
  • Bow & Stern thrusters.
  • Selden mast and spars finished in white powder coating.
  • Electric in-mast furling mainsail.
  • Maple interior joinery.
  • Stainless steel fridge & freezer.
  • Microwave combi oven.
On-deck she has been set up for single handed sailing with the electric in-mast roller reefing main and all lines being lead aft to the cockpit. Bow and stern thrusters making close quarters manoeuvring exceptionally easy. Below decks the two cabin layout provides luxurious, spacious accommodation with two large double cabins and an additional two occasional berths in the saloon.   BUILDER’S COMMENTS:   A remarkable boat, combining sparkling performance with an astonishingly spacious interior, the Gunfleet 43 is rewarding to sail in all weathers, being light on the helm yet positive. Her non-overlapping high aspect headsail provides excellent pointing ability and she is quick and easy to tack. Fast to accelerate, she gets into the groove quickly with hull speeds that defy her size and displacement. Above all, she feels comfortable and secure under sail and will take long passages in her stride without tiring her crew.   The cockpit and deck layout have been perfectly designed for easy, short-handed sailing, with sheets and traveller all within reach of the helmsman. There is excellent visibility from behind the ‘Flightdeck’ helm and the 43 provides a dry, comfortable ride. A unique feature is her flush aft deck, immediately behind the centre cockpit, effectively doubling the leisure space in warmer climes and perfect for relaxing and sunbathing.   The 43 features a spacious, light and airy saloon with centreline table, bar area and two settees, which double as seaberths. The galley is practical and a joy to use with abundant stowage in soft-close drawers, integrated GN Espace cooker, a ‘water station’ sink and stainless steel front-opening fridge/freezer. The real wow factor has to be the owner’s cabin, which offers the sort of space you would normally only expect to find on a yacht over 50 feet.   MANUFACTURER HISTORY:   Gunfleet Marine is named after a well known sandbank in the Thames Estuary which runs east to west about 5 miles off the Essex coast adjacent to Clacton and Frinton. The Gunfleet lighthouse on the northern end of the Gunfleet sands was built in 1850 and is still standing.   Gunfleet’s mission is simple - to efficiently build comfortable, fast, seaworthy cruising yachts of exquisite quality and support them with an after sales service that is second to none. Built with pride in Great Britain, Gunfleet yachts combine innovative and stylish design with the latest technology and are rich in practical, seamanlike features because, while design moves forward, the sea never changes.   Before creating Gunfleet, Founder, Richard Matthews, spent over 35 years build
