Description

The Rival 32 was crafted and updated by Peter Brett and manufactured by Marcon. This was a highly successful design with 200 bodys manufactured.
The fresh proprietor, a dentist from lymington, bought the body provisioned with an engine in 1972 and tailored her out himself to a very high basic in a boatyard on the Thames. She was pre-owned for family holidays on the south coast and France for 30 years. In 2002 she changed hands, after having new mast rigging and the body epoxied.
A new Nanni engine in 2013 with the doghouse, padding renewed and revarnishing internally.
The present proprietor bought her in 2017 and embarked on an 18 month modernisation in Larkmans boatyard at Melton; new LED beaming, feathering propellor, new mast rigging, new electronics, more solar potential, re-epoxied body and holding basin.
Deck stepped, mast front rig with heavy Dacron main mounted in lazy bag. Roller furling frontsail with Furlex gear and a cruising chute that has only ever had a test fbeam.
This go anywhere yacht is in good shape and benefits from the introduction of a 30hp Nanni inboard in 2006 and Windcaptain self direction gear.
Solid traditional cruiser with longish fin keel and skeg hung rudder
Ideal for family or short handed sailing.

Construction

GRP constructed body with skeg hung rudder and tiller direction.
