Description

The X-Yachts X-382 was designed by Niels Jeppesen and this one was built by X-Yachts in 1993.  "Serve Chilled" has the Modern Version layout with one aft cabin - 2 Cabins with 2 heads and 6 berths in total, all 3 being double berths.  This is a superb sailing yacht for family cruising. She is stiff, seaworthy, comfortable and sails like a dream.. X-Yachts are World renowned for building high quality boats which offer a finner perspextive on what a sailing yacht should offer.

Great for family cruising which is what the current owners are doing with their young family. She is well equipped and in nice condition.

Hull and Construction

The body, deck and superstructure are all in white GRP with blue stripes.  She has a deep fin keel with iron fin and lead bulb (the lead is hardened with Antimony), spade rudder and wheel direction in an aft type cockpit. 
Keel ballast 2.95 tonnes. Displacement 6.5 tonnes. The body development - 
Hull as well as deck are in hand-laid E-glass reinforced on features high-stress areas with triaxial fiberglass in connection with a sandwich laminate using hard compressed Divinycell 15 mm as core material.Hull surface outside is made of white gelcoat with 3 blue waterlines and sheer line molded into the freeboard. Hull and deck are glued together with a features polyester resin and are bolted together for each 100 mm with s-s screws Bottom Reinforcement.Mast Frame - The platform development is a heavy welded bottom frame with keel platforms, mast platforms, lifting strap securing lugs made of TBS steel sections, longitudinally connected with same material - The platform development is heat galvanized and glassed into solid laminate. Keel - The antimony hardened lead keel, with cast iron top and with very low centre of weight - The keel is fixed with s-s bolts - The surface of the keel is protected with one layer of GRP and filler. Rudder - The rudder blade is laminated in triaxial fiberglass - The rudder stock is a solid aluminium rudder stock, tapered at both ends for strength and weight saving - The lower rudder bearing is roller bearing for minimum resistance - Wheel direction.

Deck and Deck Equipment

The deck is secured with double liflines and easily navigated with inboard set shrouds and a deep, good sized cockpit. There is also a large/deep cockpit safe as this vessel is the single aft compartment version. This leaves the vessel uncluttered and is good for extended passage making.

Running Rigging -
All main control lines are lead stern to the cockpit coachroof winches via rope clutches.to 2 x Harken 2 velocity self tailing winches.   2 x Harken 2 velocity self tailing primary winches for the headsail. 2 x Lewmar 2 velocity self tailing secondary sheet winches. 4 winch handles. 4 mooring cleats and a front roller for mainstaying. Lofrans electric mainstay gustlass with warping drum and remote control. Rocna 20kg mainstay with 50m 8mm chain. Secondary 15kg Bruce mainstay with 5m 10mm chain and 30m warp. Additional Fortress mainstay. H&C deck shower. Sprayhood. Cockpit cover. 8 x fenders, 5 x mooring warps, 2 x vessel hooks.

Electrical

12 volt ships electrical unit which is controlled from the ships electrical panel at the Navigation Station in the bar on the Stbd side aft.  Powered by 2 12 volt domestic batteries which were replaced in 2010 and a 12 volt engine start charger replaced in 2006.
