Recently imported to the UK, WICKED LADY will be sold with the latest UKCA RCR compliancy, along with UK VAT-paid status and UK/European 220vAC 50Hz electrics. Simply perfect for liveaboard sailing and with the capability to go anywhere on the world’s oceans in comfort and safety, WICKED LADY is easily handled thanks to her electric in-mast furling mainsail and roller furling headsail. She also benefits from numerous updates over recent seasons including a replacement Yanmar 110hp engine 220vAC generator, replacement standing rigging and so on. OWNER’S COMMENTS: “WICKED LADY is an HC48 built in Taiwan in 1987 - a much respected and admired make popular in the USA, with a solid full keel and incredible teak interiors, designed for world cruising for a couple or family in comfort and style. She’s one of around 200 of this length, and one of only two custom-made with the rear cockpit design. We bought her from the original owner. He commissioned her in 1987 from the Hansa boat yard in Taiwan - with a rear cockpit rather than central, which allows for a huge roomy saloon. He modified her in a couple of other ways too - adding a workshop, opting for a solid GRP deck (many other HCs had a core) and extra-strong glass around the chainplates. She was delivered to him in California where he kept her for many years. In the 2000s he semi-retired and brought her to the BVIs and offered occasional high-end day charters for 6-8 people. He later retired as a liveaboard in Curacao in the ABCs. As he was getting on a bit in years he downsized to a HC33 (testament to the joy of HCs!) We bought her in Curacao in 2019 and sailed her to the BVIs before shipping her home to the UK. (She sailed beautifully, like a train on tracks). We’ve been working on her in Southampton and later St Kats.” She has full UK VAT paid UK, UKCA compliancy and has been rewired for 220vAC, and has a new diesel heating system. She has a full suite of electronics.

Hand consolidated GRP laminate. Green coloured GRP topsides. GRP formed interior structural members. Plywood bulkquantity, finished in teak cladding. Additional GRP strengthening around the chainplates. Moulded simulated planking finish to topsides. Teak rubbing strakes and top planks. Raised bulwarks.
Deck & Superstructure Construction:
Heavyweight, hand consolidated GRP laminate. Incorporating coachroof superstructure and self-draining cockpit. Moulded bulwark outboard of side deck. Teak capping rail.
