Advertiser's comments

The Grand Soleil 44 Race is a fast cruiser racer and offers a high technical standard of sailing.

The Grand Soleil 44 Race series has won races all over the world and is still very successful on the circuit.  This Grand Soleil 44 Race (Originally called Twin Soul 4) was commissioned by Luciano Gandini a passionate sailor and presently the executive director of Mylius Yachts.  He worked with the Judel-Vrolijk; the original yacht designer to enhance the performance of this vessel.  This is the only Grand Soleil 44 Race that included using carbon fibre in the hull; improvement to the bow shape; and enhancements on the keel. It was originally raced in 2003 – 2005 at a very competitive level on the Italian IMS race circuit, she has been used for cruising since, and has been stored over the last few years.

She had a major refit in 2014 at an excellent French boat builder which included optimisation for competitive IRC racing including mast-head spinnakers halyards, spinnaker pole extension, removal of interior lead ballast, keel profiled and faired, new engine seal and a refresh of electronics including AIS, autopilot and WiFi integration.  Also, a new backstay fitted (2016), Gori prop (2015), and her hydraulic ram (2015) and steering (2021) were overhauled

The Grand Soleil 44 Race has a 20 metre 9/10 fractional mast; a 55 Sqm Mainsail, a 42 Sqm non-overlapping jib, and a 169 Sqm spinnaker; and with a full lead keel, means that there is plenty of power aloft, while the weight remains down low, giving a low centre-of-gravity.  The carbon Sparcraft mast, carbon spinnaker pole, rod rigging, advanced sheeting control, hydraulic backstay and rig tensioning system means good sailing characteristics and a competitive edge on the rest of the fleet.

This Grand Soleil 44 Race has never been used as a charter boat and met and exceeded ISAF Offshore Special Regulations in terms of yacht design for inshore and Category 2 offshore sailing.  She is very fast on the racing circuit competing with Swan45, Beneteau 45s and has a pedigree for both IMS and IRC racing.  She has been optimised for IRC racing and can hold her own in IRC Class 1.  This boat would suit a person who wants advanced sailing experience, while maintaining a level of comfort for entertaining.

On the inside the Grand Soleil 44R manages a high level of comfort on top of its great sailing ability. It offers simplicity with effectiveness yet maintaining chic Italian style.  The Grand Soleil 44R comes with two cabins as standard allowing more space for crew sleeping on board. The main saloon is kept open and clear, offering an excellent space for entertaining with comfortable seating around a large dining table.
