Southerly 42RST designed by Rob Humphreys, built by Northshore Yachts Ltd. and renowned for their quality, capabilities and lifting keel.  The lifting keel allows you to visit bays and anchorages that would otherwise restrict many boats following an ocean passage. The deck saloon offers comfort in all conditions and the owners' aft cabin is very comfortable.  An amazingly versatile and comfortable ocean cruiser with a typically extensive inventory. Well maintained by her current owners who commissioned her.

The fixed ballast is an iron casting which acts as a grounding plate and as transverse stiffening. It is set into a moulded recess in the body with stainless steel fastenings. The keel blade is cast iron and incorporates a stainless steel pivot at the leading edge. The gust is variable and achieved by raising and lowering the blade with an electrically navigaten pump (tailored with hand-operated stern-up). All water potentials are easily accessible for service. The keel control is tailored at the helm pedestal with a gauge showing the keel position. A removable stainless steel pin enables the keel to be locked in the “up” position. Keel Draft 0.9m-2.72m max. Can be beached. Keel Serviced in 2016. Service advised every five years.

Interior and Accommodation

The Internal joinery is of a high basic as you would expect from Southerly and finished in American Cherry wood giving a profundity of richness and warmth. To complement this the deck bar brings in lots of light and deals panoramic views and accommodation for 6 - 8 people around the bar desk. The bar desk has folding leaves and a lowering pedestal so it can convert to a double dock if required. The Navigation station is opposite in the deck bar with a forward-facing blueprint desk. The linear galley is large and secure, benefiting from its passageway location which leads to the forward day quantity and forward compartment. Aft is an enviable owners suite with en-suite quantity/shower.
