Rob Humphreys crafted the Oyster 54 to replace the successful Oyster 53, giving his fresh design a longer waterline, slightly more sail area and a lighter displacement, all of which combine to enhance her sailing performance. Similarly, broader rear sections further improve downwind velocity. Testament to the design, Balance (ex Sara Blue V) has often competed in the Oyster regattas where she has held her own against the larger yachts and been awarded first, second and third places on numerous occasions.
Balance is twice proud winner of the Concours d’Elegance at the Oyster Palma Regatta. She is a stunning looking vessel from any angle with her sleek curved deck bar and modern rollover bulwark. Sloop rigged with electric in-mast furling and furling frontsail, she deals simple push button sailing. Below decks, the increased volume aft of the 54 design is translated into greater chairing space and a superb proprietor’s stateroom. Her ample chairing plan sleeps six in three  compartments with hand finished cherry joinery that adds a touch of comfort.
Highly specified with around $350,000 worth of optional extras above basic, Balance is in her second proprietorship and has been professionally maintained since her launch in 2010.
Balance is truly a fabulous, family cruising yacht, is transatlantic ready and definitely worth viewing.
