A lovingly maintained example of the very popular early designed centre-cockpit sturdy build Hallberg-Rassy. Cutter ketch rigged boat for blue water adventures with a great pedigree.   FURTHER BROKER’S COMMENTS:   SANTA LUCIA is hull nr. 104 and the penultimate is this hugely successful Olle Enderlein series design of which 105 were built between 1975 and 1981. Lovingly maintained she comes with a comprehensive cruising inventory with highlights such as:

  OWNER’S COMMENTS:   It is very difficult to find a vessel so seaworthy and seakindly with an encapsulated keel, a strong motor, a tough hull and deck – 35 mm thick - a bowsprit with the genoa housed like a 44” yacht, the ketch rigging and a tankage as a 50” of these days.   SANTA LUCIA is ready for a world circumnavigation never done up to now.  All the specifications had been improved during the years making this yacht so safe and not comparable with other more modern yachts.   MANUFACTURER’S COMMENTS:   A TREND SETTER Hallberg-Rassy 41 was built during 1975 - 1981. A total of 105 hulls were built. The Hallberg-Rassy 41 quickly became a trend-setter. This was the first boat with a proper walk through to the aft-cabin below deck and the first Hallberg-Rassy with a blue stripe around the cockpi   SPECTACULAR FOR ITS TIME The Hallberg-Rassy 41 is a long distance cruiser with the keel and rudder separated, and among other things a brim around the cockpit, which is slightly elevated, to give room for the passage below deck. The size of the boat and the outfitting was spectacular for its time: Pressured water, heated water, shower, electric anchor winch, headsail furling system, two separate heads, a powerful engine, solid and elegant wooden interior and gracious lines.   COMFORTABLE INTERIOR The basic principle for the layout, though greatly improved, is used to this day. The Hallberg-Rassy 41 has free passage from stem to stern below deck in one level. The galley is placed by the stairs, out of the ways from any passer-by, providing safety at sea and providing full headroom in the whole galley. The chart table on the opposite side is generous and with a real seat in the boats heading direction. The main mast is integrated with the bulkhead in the saloon, and do not pass through the table or the sofa.   HALLBERG-RASSY 41 WINS ROLEX GIRAGLIA RACE 2011 An old Hallberg-Rassy 41 ketch by the name of “Gianin 6” won in corrected time in her category (ORC, 23 boats) the famous Rolex Giraglia Race between St. Tropez and Genoa via Giraglia Island (top of Corsica Island). The distance is 245 nautical miles. The result is really a surprise in view of the type/age of the boat. The crew of seven, headed by her owner Pietro Supparo, are all friends and they took the race in a very “amateur” spirit…they even embarked 300 bottles of mineral water and had a big anchor on the bow as well

RCD Status:
Our understanding is that the yacht is exempt from the Directive 94/25EC (Recreational Craft Directive) as she was first placed into use prior to 16th June 1998.  The vessel was manufactured under the supervision from Germanischer Lloyd A 100 A1. A plaquette and full certificate is provided.  
Hull Construction:
Hull crafted of single piece GRP moulding Colour: White. Bottom treated with antifouling. Built in longitudinal stringers and basins in GRP.  
Deck Construction:
GRP-sandwich development, 25 mm with polyvinylcellular plastic as core material for strength and insulation. Hull and deck completely joined by overlapping GRP laminate. Bulwark formed in the deck and body mouldings and tailored with a solid capping in teak. Handrails, cappings on cockpit, coamings, companionway, hatch guides, sole and chairs in cockpit are all in solid natural teak. Laid teakdeck – replaced 2010.  
Keel & Rudder:
Ballast keel in iron, moulded in and completely protected in GRP. Rudder blade in GRP. Rudder main piece 40 mm range bronze. Heavy cast rudder fittings in bronze
