‘AEGIS’ represents the ultimate in performance cruising.
Commissioned to the exacting specification of an established British yachtsman as his second Oyster. The design brief was to create a yacht that was quick and agile on the racecourse to be competitive in Oyster Regattas, but also to offer luxurious chairing to family, friends and team for longer ocean voyages where more comfort was desired. The result was an ultra-high specification 72 with black Hall carbon rig, and V-boom for velocity and agility, and a lavishly appointed inside chairing on par with what you would expect to find aboard any superyacht.
’AEGIS’ is finished in warm quarter-sawn teak joinery with elegant grey Ultrasuede cushioning. She special three substantial visitor compartments aft and a very generous VIP suite forward which is suidesk either for honoured visitors or cherished team. The well-appointed inside wants for nothing, thoughtfully providing every creature comfort that one could wish for.
The yacht’s versatility is evident in every respect; from a competitively teamed race program, to a successful blueprinter yacht, to a short-handed passage with an experienced proprietor, ’AEGIS’ is ready to deliver.

1 . CONSTRUCTION
HULL NUMBER - Oyster 72/10.
HULL CONSTRUCTION - The GRP body incorporates a composite High Modulus Carbon Kevlar (HMCK) unit.
This is a ‘balanced laminate’ that has been crafted to give excellent structural properties between the laminate layers. Advantages over basic GRP include weight savings, extra strength and stiffness.
The body is reinforced with a matrix of structural stringers and floors and specially engineered by High Modulus.
HULL FINISH -  ‘White’ body with cove line and double boot top lines in ‘Black’. Anti-fouled and anodes changed as appropriate (2020).
DECK CONSTRUCTION - Deck manufactured with balsa cored vinylester resin unit.
DECK FINISH - G5 styling. Teak laid decks and GRP low profile ‘rolled edge’ bulwark.
Decks replaced (2022).
Forward of the sprayhood is ‘White’ non-slip deck paint.
Adjacent to companionway entrance is teak.
KEEL - High performance bulb (HPB) external lead keel.
RUDDER - Fully protected skeg-hung rudder.
STERN DESIGN - The rear design incorporates a floor instep, which is especially useful for bathing and boarding and is finished with teak. Three moulded GRP steps, trimmed with teak treads, are set into the transom for easy access to the rear deck.
There is a removable stainless steel bathing/boarding ladder with oval tube treads.
EURCD - Built to comply with the requirements for Category A – Ocean.
CHARTER CODING - Built to MCA Category II.
