 An outstanding classic yacht by leading UK designer built to Lloyds 100A1 with the best materials and craftsmanship.  Comprehensively restored in 2006-8 and immaculately maintained since.  Spacious, light and airy original accommodation for seven.  Modern Harken deck gear for ease of handling.  Excellent deep and spacious cockpit.  A fast, weatherly and sea-kindly yacht that is well set up for both short handed cruising or racing with a full crew.   Mabel is an exceptionally fine yacht designed by one of England’s best marine architects of the day and built to  Lloyds 100A1 by one of the country’s best wooden boatbuilders at a time when they were at the top of their game producing some of the finest workmanship in wooden yacht building.  Mabel is the third of three yachts built to Kim Holman’s design number 65. Kim Holman was an outstandingly gifted British yacht designer of the 1960’s with a good number of highly successful designs to his name. His career was unfortunately cut short by personal circumstances; if it had not been, there can be little doubt that he would have gained wider international acclaim alongside the world’s greatest post-war yacht designers.  Mabel was bought by her current owner in 2005 and between 2006 and 2008 Mabel underwent a major restoration in Devon to put her back into top class condition. The restoration work was carried out by one of (some will say the best) shipwright in SW England working with the owner who is also a qualified boatbuilder.  She has since been meticulously maintained by her owner and is offered in outstanding structural and cosmetic condition.
