The Catana 381 performance catamaran is true to the reputation of the Catana yard and solidly built for ocean cruising.  The design is noticeable with the hulls inwards inclined, deep daggerboards and a high bridge deck clearance, and overall giving the sporty look of a fast ocean sailing catamaran. The build has structural bulkheads reinforced with carbon and a Kevlar skin which allows for a lightweight 5.6 ton build which retains rigidity, the 2 factors necessary for good performance and safety.  The aft central helm position is high and offers good visibility all around the boat, including bows and sails. The Catana 381 is easy to manoeuvre solo or short-handed.  The double mainsheet is next to the helm position making managing the square topped main a breeze.  The genoa sheets lead to the cockpit as do the gennaker sheets, the cockpit itself is deep and will all sail management done from here, one feels safe even when sailing with children. The interior is cosy and practical, with 4 double cabins and 2 bathrooms.  The chart table is on starboard on entry and the galley on port and communicates directly with the cockpit and one can manage the sails in 2 steps.  The saloon table is comfortable space and is big enough to seat 8, with cream skye upholstery.  For night watch one can rest here to be close to the chart table and the cockpit.  The Raymarine chart plotter at the helm station is an Axiom from 2019 and links to a tablet to broadcast information to where you’d like it.  This gives 3 places to monitor sailing progress, the helm station, from the cockpit where the instrument panel is over the companionway and on your tablet. Manufacturer Provided Description

Catana enjoys the reputation as the builder of the fastest production comfort catamarans. Design special unique to Catana are: - Asymmetrical bodys, which help prevent hobby horsing and aids in preventing the leeward body from being buried in a wave when sailing to gustward at high speeds. In addition, all weight is concentrated toward the center of the bodys making sure weight is kept to a minimum forward of the mast. - Daggerboards, which offer very shallow sailing with boards up and closer gustward sailing angles with boards down. In addition, there is an extra margin of safety when sailing in heavy gust-sea conditions due to the ability to raise the daggerboards and "slide" off the face of extremely high waves. Each Catana is manufactured using vacuum-molded unidirectional roving impregnated with isophthalic resin. Kevlar and carbon fiber are pre-owned in high load-stress areas. The entire structure is cored with high-density Divinycell closed cell foam and all bulkfronts are vacuum molded and cored with end-grain balsa. Each guest has total input as to the design and finish of their inside. Sailing a catamaran doesn't have to remind you of driving a bus. If you enjoy the thrill of sailing, prefer better all-around performance without sacrificing safety, and demand the highest condition, then you owe it to yourself to closely inspect a Catana catamaran. The Catana 381 is the latest model to be introduced. Unique to this model is the single helm station located aft on the centerline and raised for excellent 360-degree visibility. Hull number one on her maiden sea-trial recorded 18.2 speed (sustained) in 24 speed of true gust. The galley and nav-station are on the same level as the bar and basic layouts include the owner's version with one body devoted to the owner's suite and the charter version with two staterooms and one front room in each body. Twin inboard diesel engines are located aft of the living quarters with excellent access via the transoms.
