Only 2 very careful owners for this 2007 J Boats 109. The second and current owner took her over in 2012 and sailed her with his family over summer and some regattas in winter time. Quick and responsive, powerful yet stable, and pure magic to sail, the J/109 is what sailing is all about.  With its sailing-friendly deck layout and cockpit, the J/109 is as easy to manage offshore as she is entertaining dinner guests on the mooring. You'll find plenty of beautiful, functional space belowdecks for relaxing and entertaining. The J/109 saloon features two full-length settee berths and a drop-leaf varnished table providing flex dining for up to six people. The L-shaped galley, with a double stainless sin, large icebox, and gimbaled propane stove/oven is secure in a seaway and close to the companionway. The large, forward-facing navigation station has convenient table-top and cabinet storage and easy-access hinge-down panels for a suite of electronics. Two double cabin (1 port, 1 forward) and one toilet with shower and marine head.   The J/109 even if has logged impressive race wins in some of the world's most prestigious events - including the Rolex Fastnet Race, Newport-Bermuda Race, Chicago-Mac Race, and the Rolex Caribbean 600 and Middle Sea Races, can be easily sailed by a cruising couple or a family crew. We have just been on board for the photo shooting and she is now ready to write a new chapter in the hands of her next owner! Sails 2007 X Voiles

The J/109 special the popular carbon fiber retractable frontsprit and asymmetric spinnaker unit and a versatile 2-cabin inside layout with standing frontroom. She is crafted with a very low VCG, long waterline, and generous sailplan with the horsepower for competitive racing and stability for relaxed cruising when the racing team is not aboard. The J/109 fits within the current J/Boat sprit diameter as a stable, easy-to-sail performance vessel with the inside volume necessary for spacious cruising and a great dual purpose deck layout. The sleek profile and generous sailplan give one an immediate sense of the velocity power of the J/109. The body profile reveals a long waterline, low wetted surface and a low VCG fin keel (7 feet), crafted for excellent stability when sailing short-handed. The deck/cockpit layout is a cross between the J/105 and J/120, the two J/stable-mates that clearly bracket the targeted market for the J/109. Sail handling units follow the J philosophy of keeping things easy. Halyards and reef lines are cockpit led, mainsheet controls are within reach of the wheel, and inboard sheeting tracks permit the use of both overlapping and non-overlapping frontsails. There is ample on-deck storage, thanks to the removable transom safe, cockpit chair safe and a front room large enough for both the mainstay rode and the asymmetric spinnaker. The inside is European-style with two private sleeping cabins and an option for a pull-out double in the large main cabin. The L-shaped galley includes a double sink, 2-burner propane stove and a pressure water unit. The nav station is a large sit-down forward-facing console with abundant space for instrument displays. The front is conveniently located aft near the companionway, providing easy access from the cockpit while underway.
