The open bow boat is very popular. It is small in size with a relatively large cockpit where the main features are the seats and the helm, usually protected by a windscreen that can be opened to access an open and deep bow with seats that can also be converted into a sundeck. They also usually have a swimming platform and aft sundeck. They can have either both inboard and outboard motors and are very practical and easy to control.

If you are looking for a boat to spend the day at sea, with space to relax at the bow and enjoy the sun, an open bow is the ideal boat. You can find a variety of open bow boats on the market: the American style classic layout which usually includes a V-shaped sofa in the bow and several seats in the cockpit area; the Scandinavian open bow speedboat contains the seats concentrated in the deck area and access through the bow; open bow vessels for water sports often have a powerful inboard motor, directional fins and various accessories to customise the boat.
